“Mundializar la Igualdad”: Latin America’s Voices at the IV Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy
In the framework of the IV Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy, held in Paris on October 22–23, the book “Mundializar la Igualdad: Política exterior feminista desde América Latina” was launched — a landmark contribution that brings together over 50 Latin American experts to reflect on feminist approaches to foreign policy and multilateralism.
Curated by Marita Perceval and published by the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative, this collective work gathers an extraordinary diversity of feminist and Latin American perspectives on the intersections of gender equality, diplomacy, and global governance. The book highlights the region’s wealth of knowledge, experience, and transformative proposals to globalize equality and make it central to international decision-making.
The launch took place as a side event to the Ministerial Conference, co-organized by Feministas Sin Fronteras, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), and the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative. The event brought together academics, diplomats, and activists to discuss the region’s contributions to shaping a more inclusive and equitable multilateral system.
The GQUAL Campaign was honored to contribute to this publication. María Noel Leoni Zardo, GQUAL’s Director, authored a chapter titled “Gender Parity in Global Governance as a Response to Global Challenges,” emphasizing that parity must become a rule of governance across international institutions.
“Latin America offers a wealth of experience and vision to advance equality and transform policy into collective action. This book embodies that shared effort.”
✨ “Mundializar la Igualdad” celebrates the power of feminist thought from Latin America to the world — reaffirming that achieving gender parity is essential to global justice, peace, and democracy.
