Interview | CIM Executive Secretary, Ms. Alejandra Mora Mora

The 53rd General Assembly (GA) of the Organization of American States (OAS) which took place June 21-23 this year, made important strides towards consolidating gender parity. As already reported across our social networks, it was within this framework that a report prepared by the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM), requested by the GA, was presented, which for the first time studies gender parity, geographical balance and legal systems in the IACHR and the IACHR Court.

In this interview with Alejandra Mora Mora, Executive Secretary of the CIM, she delves into the content and impact of the report and the next steps to be taken.

Furthermore, GQUAL’s work together with several States proved successful in achieving the approval of Resolution AG/doc. 5828/23 corr. 1 which endorses the report presented by the CIM and mandates the Committee on Legal Affairs to carry out follow-up actions for the implementation of the recommendations, including civil society and women’s organizations in the discussions.
